About Us

History

Ice hockey started at Westfield High School in 1994, as self-funded Varsity sport.  The program has grown exponentially over the past 25 years and now includes three boys teams (varsity and two JV teams), as well as a girls varsity program, newly introduced in 2016. Westfield's hockey program has also seen significant success on the ice, with the boys varsity program sporting an thirteen-year streak of state tournament appearances and winning records, including the program's first state championship in 2025.

Since inception, the WHS Hockey program has had the overwhelming support of its parent organization, the Westfield High School Ice Hockey Association (WHSIHA). The WHSIHA involves all parents and supporters to oversee the program, raise funds, and coordinate with the WHS Athletic Department.
